Gluten Free Guide to Seattle

I made a gluten free guide for every significant state I’ve lived and visited. I visited Seattle in December of 2022 and it really impressed me. This is based off my own experience but errors happen when working with humans and menus change, so ask your own questions when visiting any of these establishments. Some of these places aren’t strictly gluten free kitchens so there usually is a risk for cross contamination. I choose to be ok with this given precautions are taken and I’m usually OK. You may choose not to. Don’t forget to ask all the appropriate questions. I have either personally been to these places or personally spoken to the restaurant about gluten free options.

Everything is listed in alphabetical order.

For pictures of food, most of these can be found on my Seattle Instagram story highlights!

Biscuit Bitch: We didn’t make it here but many said it was amazing. A few celiacs who follow me raved about it but I saw varying reviews about cross contamination on Find Me Gluten Free, so ask your questions and decide accordingly.

Armory at Seattle Center: There is a lot going on in this building but they also had a food hall. The Kabob place had a gluten free menu. There was a Mexican place that claimed the bowls could be gluten free.

Bok a Bok Fried Chicken: We didn’t make it but people rave about their gluten free fried chicken. Looks like all fried food is gluten free but some sauces and others do contain gluten. There is a an allergen list on their website.

Cafe Flora: I didn’t make it here but they have lots of gluten free labeled items on the menu.

Capitol Cider: 100% gluten free kitchen, they do have glutenous beers. The menu is tasty, and I love the vibe. I got a chicken sandwich to go for the plan. We liked it so much we ate here twice and I took a chicken sandwich to go for the plane back. This was not on the menu but was available to order when I asked.

Cheesecake Restaurant: Yes, it’s a chain and I’ve eaten here before in other states. I’m adding it because it’s right by Paramount theatre so it’s a great location for broadway.

Cinnamon Works: This place is across from the Market. Much was gone by the afternoon when I got there, but everything looked separated from the glutenous items.

Ghostfish Brewery: 100% gluten free with tons of gluten free beers and ciders and a very large menu. We couldn’t decide so we got a bit of everything! The churros were my favorite. I also bought a sweatshirt.

Hatch Cantina: Love that I found a place in Seattle with hatch green chile straight from New Mexico. According to my research, I believe they have a dedicated gluten free fryer and good gluten free reviews.

Museum of Pop Culture: We ate at the restaurant near the entrance which you order at the counter. They have gluten free labels on menu. I got the mussels which was labeled gluten free but was served with bread on top so they had to re-make it. The lesson here? Always order gluten free and mention celiac disease or allergy when ordering if applicable. Great reminder to always tell people you are gluten free when ordering.

Ohsun Bachan Deli: We stumbled upon this after our underground tour and we all agreed it was one of our favorite spots. This is a korean spot that is 100% gluten free and tons of vegan/vegetarian options. They have a lot of fermented foods and special beverages to buy as well.

Pub 70: Located next to the aquarium and close to Pike Market, we only came here after our flight was cancelled. Their fryer is gluten free and I enjoyed some gluten free fried chicken and waffles and took bites from everyone’s plates. All delicious and right on the water.

Sugar Hill: We stumbled into this one. The fryer cuts many things out. We got an interesting appetizer I wasn’t a huge fan of but my husband enjoyed.

Tamari Bar: For a place that uses gluten free Tamari, I was kind of sad more things weren’t naturally gluten free but they were very willing to modify and accommodate. I had a delicious hand roll.

Two Door: I didn’t make it here but they have a lot of gluten free labels on the menu.

Virginia Inn: I wanted to come here but we didn’t make it. Plenty of gluten free labeled options and good reviews on Find Me Gluten Free.

Special mention goes to Shambala Bakery & Bistro in Mount Vernon, my sister brought me some delicious gluten free bread and cookies from them.
