I recently connected with Loba Luna on my Gluten Free ABQ Instagram page and was excited to learn that they are an entirely gluten free bed and breakfast in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I met the owners, Sarah and Dan, and learned a bit about their story.
Loba Luna is a new adventure for Dan and Sarah, they purchased the Bed and Breakfast from a nice couple of March of 2022. They also ran the building as a BNB called Casa Del Granjero. Dan is the entrepreneur of the two and encouraged the two of them to take on Loba Luna. Sarah is actually from Albuquerque but met Dan in Denver. Sarah had 3 kids before she and Dan married, together they had another child and then adopted another. They are a full house filled with love and it shows in their bed and breakfast.
One cool thing about Loba Luna for the gluten free community is that her kitchen is entirely gluten free. Sarah went gluten free about 10 years ago due to a number of serious health issues. The quality of her life was severely impacted and eating ability very limited. These days she is healthy and able to slowly incorporate some food back into her diet. Needless to say, she takes food allergies and restrictions very seriously. No gluten enters her kitchen at all and she often has dairy free options as well.
I visited Loba Luna in November for their Harry Potter themed brunch. The house was very beautifully decorated. It was really the details for me. The bed and breakfast has 4 rooms with 2 patios and at least one very nice and large bathtub, perfect for a bubble bath. Each room is decorated as one of the Hogwarts houses in November and December. They plan to host Harry Potter Brunches in November and December every year. This year the house is decorated as the Sorcerer’s Stone, next year with be The Chamber of Secrets, and so on. They prepared a delicious meal that was 100% gluten free and had dairy free options. They also had plenty of fun activities for kids such as wand making, puzzles and more!
They have a great location, very close to the balloon fiesta park, Casa Rondena Winery, and plenty of gluten free eats such as El Pinto. They have a beautiful horse on the property, a hot tub, sauna and plenty of outdoor space. If you are a gluten free traveler then I highly recommend staying with Loba Luna for a safe gluten free experience.
