Air Fryer Turkey Breast Recipe

Turkey breasts are highly underrated and perfect for a small family! My husband and I hosted my little brother and sister over for a pre-holiday dinner. My brother comes home from college for the holidays but my sister is a nurse in Albuquerque so she often misses the holiday meals.

Dinner consisted of turkey breast, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, red chile and gluten free gravy from Trader Joe's. We had a pumpkin pie for dessert. Obviously everything was gluten free and there were absolutely no complaints! Clean plates all around. These turkey breasts were a nice addition. Each breast was probably a bit over half a pound. 3 breasts were plenty for 4 people, with leftovers!

To cook the turkey, I just melted some butter, added some fresh garlic and Italian seasoning then smothered both sides before air frying. I wasn't sure how long I was going to cook the turkey, I was anticipating 40 minutes but after checking the temperature at 20 minutes I knew I wouldn't need that long. I ended up cooking them for 30 minutes, flipping at 20. Depending on the size of your turkey I would check the temperature at around the same time or flip and check at 15 minutes. An internal temperature of 165 degrees is recommended. You could pull it out at 160 and cover with foil. It will continue to cook to reach 165 and the juices will settle. If you don't have a good meat thermometer, get one. They are absolutely handy.

The pictures above were a quick snap of my plate before diving in.

Here is the video of the recipe.

Courses
Servings 6

  • 3 lb turkey breast (patted dry)
  • 4-5 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 2-3 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 large garlic cloves (minced)
  • freshly cracked salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl melt the butter in the microwave.

  2. Dice the garlic then add that into the butter.

  3. Add the salt, pepper and Italian seasoning to the butter and mix together.

  4. Using a basting brush, slather all sides of the turkey breasts. Add some freshly cracked salt and pepper.

  5. Preheat the air fryer with a turnover notification at 375 degrees.

  6. Air fry for 30 minutes, flip half way through. They are done cooking when they hit 165 internally.

  7. Remove from the air fryer and place on a plate, then cover with foil to let the juices set for about 10 minutes before serving.
